A few things I'm NOT looking forward to in Idaho:
1. Mosquitoes. Vegas has ZERO. Mosquitoes love my blood. Bummer.
2. Salamanders. Occasionally my parents find salamanders in their basement. I was going to live down there but after remembering this fact last night. I'm seriously considering staying upstairs AT ALL TIMES.
3. Snakes. Innocent garden snakes live in my parents' yard. I need to stop. I'm starting to reconsider this move :0)
3. Lame music on the radio. Every time I go to Utah I hear the SAME music from 15-20 years ago. Over and Over. It drives me bonkers. I'm going to have to figure out how to stream Pandora.com to my car.
4. Everyone all up in my business. I don't have any shady business to hide. I'm also a pretty open person. I'm still going to have withdrawals from the anonymity I appreciate in a larger community.
5. Small (Mormon) town mentality. I anticipate having to bite my tougue a lot in church. I will have to pray for patience and understanding. It's just going to drive me completely nuts when comments are made about how miserable, selfish and lost anyone is who doesn't have the gospel. Sorry folks, not true. **
**Working and befriending certain (many) Christ-like, selfless, good hearted people not of the LDS faith has caused me to wonder 'what could the gospel do to improve this person's life?' I also compare these people to many I know who are of the LDS faith and yet live a comparitively miserable life.
I don't have all of the answers. All I have is the knowledge that we are all children of a Heavenly Father and he wants what is best for us indivdually and as a whole. Everyone has to come to that realization on their own and it's not our place to judge each other.
